- 1 pound (450 g) beef flank steak, sliced thinly
- 4 cups (400 g) fresh broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) soy sauce
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) beef broth
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) water
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a crockpot, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until beef is tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets to the crockpot.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water together, then stir it into the crockpot to thicken the sauce.
- Serve over cooked rice.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle some sesame seeds on top before serving.
- You can substitute beef with chicken for a different taste.
