- 2 cups (500 g) dried navy beans
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) molasses
- 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 4 cups (960 ml) water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse and soak the navy beans overnight in water.
- In a slow cooker, combine soaked beans, chopped onion, barbecue sauce, molasses, brown sugar, mustard powder, smoked paprika, diced bacon, and water.
- Season with salt and pepper, then stir well to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours until beans are tender.
- Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
Notes
- Soaking beans overnight helps reduce cooking time and improve texture.
- Feel free to add your favorite spices or vegetables for extra flavor!
